Photodynamic Therapy for Mesothelioma uses a light-activated drug to access and destroy cancer cells. Photodynamic therapy is one of the newest mesothelioma
treatment options. The process involves giving patients photosensitizing drugs (photosensitizers). Mesothelioma Gene therapy is one of a number of mesothelioma
treatments including mesothelioma radiation, mesothelioma chemotherapy, mesothelioma photodynamic therapy, mesothelioma surgery, and mesothelioma
immune therapy.

Two exotic ways of attacking mesothelioma are gene therapy and photodynamic therapy. Mesothelioma patients sometimes become involved in clinical trials in
both.

In trials 41 patients with malignant pleural effusion were treated in our clinic using photodynamic therapy. Mesothelioma was diagnosed in 10, pleural metastases of
different malignant tumors in 31 patients. Thoracoscopy was performed to 21 patients, thoracotomy - to 10 patients.
